Climate change threatens the place we call home.

Our mission is to advocate for plans and policies that preserve and enhance our natural surroundings while building a healthy, just, resilient, minimal waste, regenerative, fossil fuel-free community that will thrive and prosper for generations into the future.

We can make a difference.

Our focus for 2024 is to help the City of Thousand Oaks with its Climate and Environmental Action Plan (CEAP).

The fastest warming county.

Ventura County’s average temperature has already increased 4.7F degrees (2.6C) since 1895, making ours the fastest warming county in the continental United States. That average is projected to climb 3-5F degrees more in inland areas, including Thousand Oaks, over the next 20 years according to the Western Regional Climate Center.

We must act now to mitigate the worst effects of increased temperatures.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”

— Margaret Mead

You can help.

“There’s no pathway to stabilizing the climate without phasing gas out of our homes and buildings. This is a must-do for the climate and a livable planet,” said Rachel Golden of the Sierra Club’s building electrification campaign.

The British medical journal, The Lancet, reported in 1996 that the use of domestic gas appliances, particularly gas stoves, was linked to increased asthma, respiratory illness, and impaired lung function.

Let the Ventura County Board of Supervisors and Resource Management Director Kim Prilhart and the Mayors and City Managers of Oxnard, Ventura and Thousand Oaks know that we want all new construction to be mandatory all-electric.

Join the Let's Turn Off the Gas! letter campaign to ban gas connections in new construction.
